How do I train my cat to go out only on a leash?
I'm getting my cat neutered soon, and I was thinking to let her leave later. Generally, if the door is open she will sit at the door and eventually go back inside. I want to take it out, but only if I'm with her and when she's on a leash. How can I let her have some time off without her run an open door, once she gets used to going out there?
I'm glad you're asking that question before starting to take it out. Many cats that are taken abroad to become darters door. It's a trade off I would not. Now she is very happy and safe to be only an indoor cat. She likes to look out the window at the birds and do it without threats to their security. As about a window seat and a nice climbing pole instead of exposing his illness and threats of dogs and wildlife that might harm them. Even in a leash, she is exposed to the disease, internal and external parasites that she did not have to deal with now. She'll be so happy if she never left.
